Information governance delivery has always been compounded by the fact that the default “out-of-the-box” systems administration and management tools do not lend themselves to being used by non-technical business administrators.
Consequently the NHS efforts to improve information capability has been severely constrained by the fact that administration of security controls and governance requirements can only be undertaken by overstretched ICT departments.
